Types of Ikea Mattresses

Let’s review the entire mattress line offered by Ikea in detail. One thing before we start, the names of these mattresses are very unique and different.

1. Matrand Mattress

Matrand mattress memory foams- Ikea mattress review

  • The material of this mattress is Memory foam with latex.
  • The thickness of this mattress is 7 1/8”
  • Some other features of these mattresses are that it is cotton/poly Ikea cover with polypropylene lining and poly/rayon fiber.

The memory foam of this mattress has a thickness of 7 1/8” and blends with 3.1 lb./cu.ft. polyurethane with memory foam and also includes 1.7 lb./cu.ft. regular like polyurethane foam.

The support that is given to memory foam with a layer of regular foam has been found to extend the lifeline of this product and also adds up firmness to latex layers that cannot achieve this kind of firmness independently with 1.7 lb/cu.ft. polyurethane layer.

It is said that this latex layer provides temperature reduction and brings a slightly soft feel to the surface of the mattress.

This mattress makes customers happy with comfort and support. The memory foam is available in Twin, Full, Queen, and King sizes but sadly the latex is only available in Queen size.

Pros

  • It is very affordable.
  • The memory foam of this mattress provides firmness and helps to relieve pressure.
  • The latex layer maintains heat dissipation and helps in providing you a soft feel.
  • This is the best fit for adults and children.

Cons

  • The latex line only has queen size available.
  • Some purchasers have complained about early sagging and deformity.

2. Myrbacka Mattress

  • This mattress is made of memory foam and latex.
  • The thickness of this mattress is 9 ½”
  • Other features include cotton/poly cover with polypropylene lining; wool and rayon/poly fiber.

Apart from 3.1lb/cu.ft. memory foam layer, the foam mattress has a 2.2 lb/cu.ft, high resilience polyurethane foam layer, and a 1.7 lb/cu.ft. Regular foam layer.

Together these layers form a thickness of 9 ½” which makes this a very durable and supportive mattress that can take care of BMI between 20 and 25, even after so many advantages the price of this mattress is super affordable isn’t this so good?

The latex model is the best fit for people who require medium firmness. Customers have voted both latex and memory foam mattresses more than the average.

The memory foam is available in Full, Queen as well as King sizes whereas Latex exclusively has only the Queen Size option.

Pros

  • MYRBACKA Mattress is super affordable for an average consumer.
  • The consumers seem to be satisfied more than the average range.
  • Memory foam mattresses can handle overweight people also

Cons

  • Certain complaints regarding sagging.
  • The latex version is available in Queen Size only.

IKEA Spring Mattress

  •  The other features include cotton/poly cover with polypropylene lining; poly/rayon fiber.

Besides the ordinary 1.7 lb/cu.ft. Regular foam mattress includes high resilience polyurethane foam layer with a 2.2 lb/cu.ft. density in its core.

The consumers do not feel this mattress leads to sagging. Also, I appreciate that this mattress offers both firm and medium variety to target a huge number of consumers.

Unfortunately, this mattress line is offered in queen size only. This is one of the cheapest mattresses offered by Ikea’s foam mattress line.

Pros

  • It is one of the best economical mattresses.
  • It is offered in firm mattress and medium-firm sectors.
  • High resilience supporting layer helps it to last longer.

Cons

  • Available only in queen size.
  • Doesn’t show any cooling features.
  • Thinner than any other mattress (7 ¼ “thick only).

4. Mausand Mattress

This is about 7 7/8” thick.

Minnesund ikea mattress

Unlike other mattresses that Ikea offers that are constructed by the use of synthetic latex, Maus and is made up of 85% of natural latex, wool, and coconut fibers which is also 100% sourced cotton.

The comfort level of this mattress is simply the best; medium firmness, squishy, slightly soft and provides great support for your hips and shoulders.

And this mattress has one awesome feature that is; if you have any kind of allergies like asthma, dust allergy, or any such kind of allergies this mattress is worth it for you.

Pros

  • Constructed using natural materials.
  • Consists of five supporting layers of comfort.
  • Best for allergic people.

It is made up of a gel layer that helps in relieving pressure and does not let it get too hot and this feature is simply just admired by all the purchasers.

Some consumers complain that this is a very firm mattress and would not be appreciated by every memory foam lover. Some purchasers feel this mattress thin due to its extra firmness.

  • It has a thickness of 15 3/8 inches.

This is one of the thickest mattresses offered by IKEA. It has the right amount of sinking quality. It consists of a layer of 594 springs that are individually wrapped.

If you don’t like mattresses that make you feel stuck, this is the best option for you. This is not a very bouncy mattress and reduces motion transfer. Apart from these features, it is found to be too thick.

Pros

  • It has a layer of memory foam pillow top that is marked as a benefit
  • It has two layers of pocket springs.
  • Good thickness level.

Cons

  • It is available only in Queen and King Sizes.
  • This mattress is too thick.
  • It cannot be rolled for transport.

8. Haugsvar Mattress

Overview

  • It is made up of a spring and foam mixture.
  • It is about 11 inches thick.

This is a hybrid mixture that beautifully blends foam and spring material that leads to good support formed by coils and the pressure relief gained by the foam. This is a very affordable mattress and has a very low level of motion transfer.

Usually, these mattresses start sagging and forming depressions after certain years. The edge support does not reach the benchmark of good quality.

The mattress is quite firm but the medium-firm option is very reliable and is good for sleep.

Pros

  • This mattress is sold at a very valuable price.
  • It is made up of 594 coils that are wrapped individually.
  • It has a layer that has high resilience.

Cons

  • The edge support is poor.
  • The cover cannot be removed and or washed.

This mattress is made of layers that include foam and soft filling. This mattress has 594 full-sized coils that are wrapped individually plus 594 mini coils that bring you the perfect cushion feel.

This is a mid-pricing mattress. It is known for distributing pressure evenly to the entire body.

This mattress has reduced motion transfer that helps you have a peaceful night even if your partner has a habit of moving or changing sides frequently.

This doesn’t get too hot or gives you the feeling of suffocation. Again the drawback says that it starts sagging at early stages.

Pros

  • Reduction in motion transfer.
  • Foam layer that is high in resilience.
  • It includes two layers of pocket springs.

Cons

  • Constant sagging complaints.
  • Cannot be compact for transporting.
  • Poor edge support.

The Ikea Mattresses That I Got Crazy About

  1. Overall The Best- Holmsbu Spring Mattress

Why decide to buy only one category when you can have it all, the support provided by spring coils and the comfort provided by the memory foam along with the pillowtop mattress that is just so soft.

This is the thickest mattresses manufactured by Ikea and is full of layers comprising of individually wrapped springs along with a gel foam layer plus super-soft filling which leads to an amazing 17 ¾ inches high mattress. Isn’t this the best where you gain all the benefits?

  1. Best Mattress For Hot Sleepers- Knapstad Memory Foam Mattress

Do you sleep hot?

Have people around been telling you that foam mattresses are just not for you?

Here IKEA has a solution for that too! People who sleep hot and love memory foam mattresses can buy a KNAPSTAD mattress. It is built with a layer of gel. It keeps the above surface cool at all times.

You can surely give it a try and if you don’t like it, do not worry they have a great exchange policy as mentioned below in this Ikea Mattresses Review.

  1. For People who have Allergies- Mausand Natural Latex Mattress

Sleeping is an activity that brings peace to your mind and rests on your body but often people with allergies have a different opinion because due to their mattresses they do not get proper sleep or might wake up *BOOM* in even more bad condition.

Ikea has an awesome mattress designed for you that is manufactured by using 85% natural latex that includes coconut fiber along with cotton and wool which is for sure advised to people who suffer allergies and or asthma.

Are These Mattresses Worth the Value?

Even though you have heard quite many negative reviews about the durability of these mattresses, you have to remember that these are not offered as premium quality mattresses.

These mattresses are created to provide you with an adequate degree of comfort for an ordinary sleeper, provided the sleeper is not overweight.

Adding up the extra benefits that are given in their exchange policies, you will buy a mattress that offers you a remarkable bash for the investment (limited) you’ve made.

Who Should Get These Mattresses?

  • Students

So finally you are a grown-up, and you’re moving out of your parent’s residence and shifting to a hostel?

Or are you a student who is just interning and needs a good budget mattress to save money for education also?

I had to manage with a second-hand mattress as I had a low budget to buy furniture also.

But as the times are constantly changing and the concept of consumerism has become the ultimate target for companies, the latest options like the Jomna line from Ikea’s cheap mattresses are available for students like you who are trying to fit into their given budgets.

I agree to read reviews on the issues like durability but buddy, I’m sure your stay in these forms is not forever! Isn’t it?

  • Children

these mattresses are definitely the best for children as they have a bodyweight that is just perfect for mattresses from Ikea.

The durability is not going to be an issue for the entire childhood of your children that is for about 7-15 years until and unless they demand a change.

IKEA Children Mattresses

  • People, who need some change constantly

Are you a young couple whose changing houses and addresses just as the rents fluctuate?

Do you have a better pay scale and the first thing you want to do is shift your house?

Are you a person who has extreme cleanliness issues and just cannot manage to sleep on a second-hand mattress?

You are all stressed about those heavy bulk items or your super delicate stuff when these shifting of houses take place. This Ikea Mattresses Review suggests buying the mattress in this situation.

A super expensive mattress is exactly what I am talking about. Unless you are paying professional help that comes paid, there are high chances that you might end up damaging or destroying it every time you shift.

But when you have an option to buy a completely new mattress at a similar price, what will be the probability that you will bring in your old expensive mattresses by paying extra cash without any guarantee for destruction?

Who Shouldn’t Buy These Mattresses?

According to Ikea Mattresses Review, grownups that exceed BMI value more than 25 should not choose mattresses that have a low density or less thickness which is the usual variety offered by Ikea Mattresses, until and unless they are looking for a lesser budget temporary quick fix that would not last for more than certain years.

There are many options available at higher prices for you.

IKEA Mattress Order Summary

If you are still wanting to buy these mattresses Ikea Mattresses Review suggests you choose from the memory foam line or the natural latex series, if you demand more comfort on this particular investment and also a little more durability compared to others.

People who do not change mattresses every few years should not choose these options as the reviews talk negatively about the durability in areas of sagging and destruction.

Directing Ikea Mattress To Your Address

Do you have this thought bothering you or it is just me, I bought a mattress for $200 as I had a low budget, but I had to pay an extra $100 for its transport, that’s bad right?

Ikea is one of the biggest contemporary businesses to consumer manufacturers that have a very useful way of packaging its mattresses. This Ikea Mattresses Review will guide you through the delivery process.

These mattresses are roll-packed for convenience in transporting. The machines compress these mattresses into thin sheets that make this packaging possible.

A rolled-up mattress is much easier to fit in your vehicle and is more demanded.

Ikea offers both foam and spring mattresses that come in rolled packing, I agree not all mattresses are rolled but there are people who demand these mattresses just because they come in unique packing.

According to Ikea Mattresses Review, you need to force-fit the mattresses that are not roll-packaged in your cars or vehicles or else pay an extra $100 to get it delivered to your bed.

IKEA Mattress Payment Summary- Ikea mattress reviews UK

Exchange Policy

As a buyer, your biggest nightmare is spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on your new mattress and all you do is regret it after you have bought it maybe because you realize this is not the right mattress for you, or maybe it’s not solving the purpose of pressure-relief, etc.

Just spending a few minutes in the store cannot give you the perfect feel of the mattress. Only when you have spent days sleeping on that mattress or weeks after weeks you have been sleeping on the mattress.

You would know if that is the correct one. Maybe various people who visited the store tested the showroom mattress, and your own mattress would just feel so different.

Returns and Warranty

365 days from the day of your purchase, Ikea offers you a complete refund. Even an exchange policy is given for 365 new days in case you are not happy with your purchase.

However you need to carry your photo ID and the disclaimers say that the mattress should not be damaged, stained, or misused on purpose.

The use of a mattress cover or protector would be advisable.

Ikea provides 25 years limited warranty on all the given mattresses which is much higher than those offered by other mattresses of the same range.

This warranty covers damages found in foam, latex, or springs whereas it does not consider defects like wear and tear.

My Personal Opinion | Ikea Mattresses Review

Currently, Ikea has about 16 mattresses to offer you out of which 6 are foam mattresses 3 are latex, and 7 spring mattresses that have a price range from super affordable to less expensive.

The qualities of these mattresses are proportional to the prices consecutively. The best part that Ikea offers to its customers is the return and or exchange policy.

It is advisable for people who are not too overweight and are not fond of soft mattresses. This is my honest opinion on the Ikea Mattresses Review.

It has a huge variety of firm mattresses and that too at very cheap prices and the roll-packaging is a huge benefit for this line.

But there are frequent reviews on mattresses sagging in early periods. Compared to other options of similar prices, they are above satisfaction.
